Question: Which is better a canon g10, or a sx1 is? (Posted by: Mak on 2009-07-30 14:21:32) I'm taking photography to the next level, Trying to become an Advanced Amateur.. So, Which do you think is better for All sorts of pictures, from Landscapes to portraits to Macros. I know a DSLR with a Lens Kit would be better, but that's a lil bit expensive and hard to get in My situation. Plus I don't like the idea of carrying around a bunch of lenses. I have done some research over the past couple of days on every website I could find on Google that is related to any of the cameras.. But I want a Photographer's Opinion. Not a website review. If anyone could give me a REAL rating of the G10's Video Quality, that would be a great help. Thanks in advance! P.S.: Their prices are very close here in Egypt both around 4500 Egyptian Pounds.. |

Posted by: Caoedhen on 2009-07-30, 14:29:38 The main difference between them is the range of the lens, the G10 has a very useful range, the SX series are "superzoom" with a very long zoom range. All else being equal, the shorter zoom will usually be of better quality. Are you sure you aren't seeing the SX10 for the same price as the G10? The SX1 costs much more than the G10 here in the US. Both offer full manual control and RAW files. The G10 is much more compact due to the shorter zoom range. I've never used the video function on either, so can't comment on that. |
