Question: Why can't i find the pictures i uploaded from my canon g10 digital camera to my macbook?

I've uploaded pictures and videos from my Canon G10 to my Macbook. All of the photos and videos appear in iPhoto, but only the videos appear in my photos folder in the Macintosh HD. Furthermore, when I uploaded the pictures and videos from iPhoto to Flickr, the videos turned to static images. Argh. Suggestions? Thanks.

On certain cameras, you have to download a certain program for MacBooks. If you have another option, you should use it; MacBooks are complicating and frustrating!
