Question: Will a canon ef 50mm f/1.8 ii camera lens fit on a canon g10 power shot?

I want to get a new lens ,and i saw that Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens is the best seller on amazon.com ... can i install it on my G10 ?and how? and where can i do that in kuala lumpur? and how much it will cost me?

You cannot change the lens of the G-10 camera. The lens is geared for the focus depth to digital plate, etc. This is NOT a camera that can use interchangable lenses! There is NO ONE in Kuala Lumpur who can do it, and in fact, there is no one in Canon that can do that! If you want to change lenses, buy a new camera. You will have to spend a lot of money to get a dSLR of the quality of your G-10.

Just get an empty toilet paper roll and some super glue it will work better than the scenario you have planned. Buy a DSLR if you want to interchange lenses

Nope.. sorry... G10 is a fixed lens camera.. a nice one, no doubt, but fixed lens... get any of the DSLR cameras canon makes, and go for it on the lens :).. but get the 1.4 lol

Actually, guys...the Canon G10 does have a lens thread (58mm), but all you can fit to it is a 1.4x Tele-converter (TC-DC58D) and you must also use a Conversion Lens Adapter (LA-DC58K). So, I wouldn't bother if I were you. In answer to your question...no, you obviously can't use a lens that's designed to be used in an SLR or dSLR camera.
