Question: What is the best memory card for my canon g10 digital camera? i am confused about the difference between? (Posted by: Joe.R on 2009-09-18 11:10:24) A Sandisk 8 gb. Extreme III (class 6) SDHC card @ 20mb/second vs. the same card @ 30mb/second. What is the real-world difference between these two? What exactly would be faster about the 30mb/sec card, and by how much? |

Posted by: fhotoace on 2009-09-18, 11:25:42 The difference is how fast the card can read and write image files. However your G10 may not be able to support that kind of speed and frankly 8 gb is far too large a card for a P&S camera. It will give you a false sense of security and you will 1) rarely copy your image files to your computer and format the card when you have finished and 2) run the risk of eventual card corruption, losing all your images. Better to just buy a pair of 2 gb cards (around $10 to $15 in a two pack)and use one as a backup should you run out of space on it in the middle of a shoot. |
