Question: Which is better canon g10 or canon eos 1000d?

Each one is better at what they're meant for. The 1000D is incredibly good with a decent lens on it and gives you all of the advantages of a DSLR. It wll allow you to learn more techniques and to start building a complete camera system. The G10/11 is the Pros favorite discreet, pocket camera, producing commercial quality results in the right circumstances whilst being discreet, but with great flexibility. Get both ! :)

As somebody has said each has their own uses. Both are brilliant cameras, however I would say the G10 makes it the better all rounder when the light is good. The 1000D does give more future potential, but as an entity on it's own isn't as good as the G10. However neither camera will be better than the other unless you know how to use them.
