Question: Which do you prefer? canon g10 or g11?

G10 was just a bridge too far for a compact camera. Canon has a big reputation for quality, so the G11 was a sensible move, plus Canon's processing and noise reduction systems have improved hugely in these past two years. So for me the G11

G10 better quality pix not much difference other than the mega pixel quality and the big price difference

Me, I'd prefer the G11 since people have said that it has better performance in low-light than the G10. Not sure if that's something they've actually verified though.

Neither, both are expensive, and have image sensors that are too small with too many pixels. I'd be worrying constantly about keeping ISO below 400. If you want compact-ish and great photos you need a large image sensor, close to those found in dSLRs. So if you are going to spend this kind of cash, might as well go all the way and get a Sigma DP2, Olympus EP1 or 2, or the Panasonic GF1.
